Live Chat for Managers
Live chat succeeds or fails on the same things as a phone queue: resourcing, service levels, routing, workflows and the right metrics.
This course shows the leaders accountable for chat how to plan, staff and measure it with the same discipline, whether you’re launching the channel or lifting its performance.
- Led by global expert Daniel Ord
- For managers, not agents
- Vendor-neutral
Trusted by leading organisationsHundreds of businesses, from local councils to national brands, have chosen CX Skills to upskill their teams. See who we’ve trained
What’s in it for you
Run live chat like a well-managed queue
Many organisations add chat without the planning they’d give a phone queue, then wonder why wait times, abandonment and quality drift.
You’ll leave knowing what your chat channel is for, what customers expect from it, and how to staff, route and measure it to deliver both.
- Clear objectives for the channel
- Right-sized staffing and concurrency
- Metrics that show what’s working
Set clear objectives
Decide what chat is for: service, sales, deflection or a blend.
Meet customer expectations
Design chat around what customers expect from the channel.
Staff it properly
Plan resourcing and concurrency with the discipline of a phone queue.
Route and escalate well
Segmentation, routing and escalation pathways that work.
Support your agents
Knowledge management and quality that keep answers consistent.
Measure what matters
Service levels, wait times and KPIs that tell the real story.
The course
Three modules, one Customer Access Strategy
Live Chat for Managers runs over two live 4.5-hour sessions: nine hours on the objectives, customer expectations and operating model behind a high-performing chat channel.
You’ll work through case studies, group discussion and practical exercises, applying each module to your own chat operation as you go.
It applies proven contact centre principles that work in any organisation, whatever your size or sector. It doesn’t cover choosing or configuring chat software.
