FAQs

Manager training questions

Quick answers for managers and organisations booking management training.

Still have questions? Get in touch
Which course should I choose: Introduction to Contact Centre Management or Contact Centre Management Fundamentals?
Introduction to Contact Centre Management is the essential toolkit for anyone stepping into management or already responsible for a centre without formal training. It covers the full breadth of disciplines (KPIs, service levels, QA, workforce planning, leadership routines and more), giving you the frameworks to manage confidently and consistently. Contact Centre Management Fundamentals is a longer program (4 × 4.5 hours) focused on operations, with more time to go deep on demand forecasting, staffing models, optimisation, coaching and continuous improvement. Both are core courses: Introduction is broader, Fundamentals goes deeper on running the operation.
Will this apply to our contact centre?
Yes. There are global best practices that apply to every contact centre, whether you have 5 people or 500, in government, utilities, retail, finance or tech, on the phones or across digital channels. Our courses teach those principles and show you how to apply them to your own centre.
Do you run public manager courses with fixed dates?
Yes. We schedule live online public courses throughout the year. See the upcoming live courses list.
Can you customise a management program for our organisation?
Our manager programs are purpose-built from decades of real operations, based on proven best practices that apply to any contact centre, so you don’t need a bespoke build to get results. For private deliveries we tailor the context without diluting the methodology. That typically includes:
  • Using your channels, customer scenarios and KPI set in examples and exercises.
  • Dialling up or down the emphasis across topics (e.g. WFM depth, QA integration, leadership routines).
  • Aligning tools and templates to your terminology and reporting cadence.
If you need deeper configuration, we’ll scope what’s sensible, but we won’t compromise the core frameworks that make the programs effective. Learn about private training.
What experience level do I need?
There are no formal prerequisites for either course. Choose based on what you need:
  • Introduction to Contact Centre Management: a broad toolkit across every core discipline, in a shorter 2 × 3.5-hour format.
  • Contact Centre Management Fundamentals: a longer 4 × 4.5-hour program focused on operations, with more time on demand and forecasting, staffing optimisation, QA integration, coaching systems and continuous improvement.
  • Specialist & bespoke courses: for any manager who needs to strengthen a particular area (e.g. QA, live chat, developing team leaders), regardless of tenure.
All programs teach best-practice methods that apply across industries and centre sizes.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Yes. Everyone who completes the training receives a digital certificate of completion.
Are the courses accredited or aligned to standards?
Many CX Skills courses are ACXPA certified, and our courses are aligned with the Global Contact Centre CX Standards, built on global best practices drawn from decades of operational leadership. They are not part of the national accreditation framework: our focus is on practical tools, repeatable frameworks and outcomes you can apply immediately. See accredited vs non-accredited training.
What’s the typical course length and format for managers?
Public manager courses are delivered live online in blocks, from 2 × 3.5 hours (Introduction to Contact Centre Management) to 4 × 4.5 hours (Contact Centre Management Fundamentals). Private programs can be tailored in duration and format to suit your team, onsite or online.
What do the manager courses cost?
Public tickets range from $797 to $1,997 per person (ex GST) depending on the program. Save 15% when you book 3 or more tickets in one transaction (2 or more for Contact Centre Management Fundamentals), and ACXPA members save 25%. Private training is quoted per team, with a minimum of 5 participants.
Do ACXPA members receive a discount on manager courses?
Yes. ACXPA members receive 25% off CX Skills live public courses. Learn more about membership on the ACXPA site.
What are the typical group sizes for private manager training?
Private courses need a minimum of 5 participants, and groups of up to about 16 work best for interaction and coaching. Larger centres often run multiple cohorts.
What tech do I need for live online courses?
A reliable internet connection, a webcam, a headset and a quiet space. We’ll provide the meeting link and participant materials in advance.
